In May 2009 inaugural foundation21 Parents Retreat was attended. Parents had a chance to relax, have fun and learn together, in the beautiful surrounds of the Barossa Valley.

Guest speakers informed the group on topics such as planning for the financial future of our kids, education, and speech – with the highlight of the weekend being a presentation by Tammy Lane – a young lady who has Down syndrome, and spoke about her remarkable achievements in life so far – and she is only 22 years old!

Of course there was also a chance for some R & R and the Flying Fox over Cudlee Creek sent the adrenalin pumping…

 Buddy Walk® was established to promote awareness and inclusion for people of all ages with Down syndrome during October, National Down Syndrome Awareness Month.

It is a wonderful, heart-warming event that celebrates the many abilities and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome.

Buddy Walk ® plays a key role in helping raise funds for the development of educational and health support programs such as speech therapy for children and young adults with Down syndrome.

The Buddy Walk ® sponsorship program allows all participants, to receive some fantastic rewards as a thank you for taking part.
