After sell-out performances around Australia, the Merries make their way to Adelaide.

The Merries are a unique group, comprising 70 dancers with some intellectual or physical disability, and they dance their way into the hearts and minds of all who have seen them perform.

They are a diverse group, ranging in age from 6 to 56, most of whom have an intellectual or physical disability, but all of whom refuse to be defeated by the enormous challenges life has dealt them.

The Merry Makers dance! Anyone who’s ever seen them perform can attest to the fact that they have an amazing ability to lift spirits and put a smile on their audience’s faces.

But that’s not all they do.

What the Merry Makers do best is perform miracles. Countless times parents bring their son or daughter along to class having previously been given little hope for their personal development. And whilst it doesn’t happen overnight, the regular structure of the rehearsal program provides a wonderful opportunity for developing social skills of these special individuals. In a suburban Sydney hall every Saturday both parent and child can blossom in an atmosphere of love, acceptance and support. To the parents, siblings and friends, the gradual and consistent progress of the ‘Merries’ is often miraculous!

Master Class / Matinee Performance and Lunch

It is the mission of the Merry Makers Australia that their experience is made available to people with disabilities throughout Australia. There is nothing like the Merry Makers anywhere in the world and by taking the troupe on tour they could change thousands of lives. To further achieve this, Merry Makers will showcase their talents with performances at the Adelaide Town Hall in April.

A Master Class with the Merry Makers is being held at Adelaide Town Hall on Friday 17th April 2009 commencing 11.00 am.

You have an exclusive invitation to meet The Merries and watch their onstage performances of their favourite dances, you may even get to dance on stage with them. You will then join them for lunch. (Light lunch with soft drinks, tea & coffee.)
